The MP DTE Seat Allotment is a fully automated and centralized process conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education. The allotment is based strictly on the candidate's JEE Main merit rank, the reservation category, and the order of preferences submitted during the Choice Filling stage.
Once the choice locking period is over, the system's algorithm processes the data for all applicants and allocates the best possible seat to each candidate as per the rules. The results are then published on the official portal for candidates to check.
On the day the results are declared, you must log in to check your status.
If you have been allotted a seat, the next immediate step is to download the provisional allotment letter.
After checking your allotment, you have to decide your next course of action.
Candidates who have accepted their seat must report to the allotted college within the specified timeframe.
It's common for many students not to get an allotment in the first round. Do not panic.
Upward Movement allows a candidate to accept their currently allotted seat while still being considered for their higher-ordered preferences in the next round of counselling. If a higher preference is allotted, the previous seat is automatically cancelled.
If you are not allotted any seat in a particular round, you don't need to do anything. You will be automatically eligible to participate in the next round of counselling. You can also revise your choices if the portal allows.
The seat acceptance fee is generally non-refundable if a candidate withdraws after confirming their seat. However, it is usually adjusted against the total tuition fee of the institute. Always check the latest official brochure for the exact refund policy.
