Understanding the Seat Allotment Process

The MP DTE Seat Allotment is a fully automated and centralized process conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education. The allotment is based strictly on the candidate's JEE Main merit rank, the reservation category, and the order of preferences submitted during the Choice Filling stage.

Once the choice locking period is over, the system's algorithm processes the data for all applicants and allocates the best possible seat to each candidate as per the rules. The results are then published on the official portal for candidates to check.

Step 1: Checking Your Allotment Result

On the day the results are declared, you must log in to check your status.

• Visit the official DTE MP counselling portal.
• Find and click on the "Seat Allotment Result" link for the current round.
• Log in using your credentials (Roll Number, Password, etc.).
• Your allotment status will be displayed on the screen, showing the college and branch you have been allocated, if any.

Step 2: Downloading the Allotment Letter

If you have been allotted a seat, the next immediate step is to download the provisional allotment letter.

• The allotment letter is a crucial document that serves as proof of your seat allocation.
• It will contain important details such as your name, rank, allotted college, branch, and the deadline for reporting.
• Download the letter and print multiple copies for your records and for the reporting process.

Step 3: Post-Allotment Options

After checking your allotment, you have to decide your next course of action.

• Accept and Freeze: If you are satisfied with the allotted seat and do not wish to participate in further rounds, you must accept the seat and proceed with reporting to the institute.
• Opt for Upward Movement: If you accept the seat but wish to be considered for your higher-preference choices in the next round, you must choose the Upward Movement option.
• Not Allotted: If you were not allotted any seat, you are automatically eligible for the next round of counselling.

Step 4: Reporting to the Allotted Institute

Candidates who have accepted their seat must report to the allotted college within the specified timeframe.

• Carry your provisional allotment letter, along with all original documents and their photocopies for verification.
• Pay the required admission fee at the institute to confirm your admission.
• Failure to report to the institute within the deadline will result in the cancellation of your allotted seat.

• You will automatically be considered for the next round of seat allotment.
