Step 1: Online Registration

Registration is the mandatory first step to participate in the counselling. It is a fully online process where you establish your candidature.

⚠️ CRITICAL REGISTRATION WARNING
Use a mobile number and email address that are active and easily accessible to you. DTE MP will send all vital OTPs (for registration and choice locking) and final seat allotment notifications to this mobile number. You cannot change this number later in the counselling cycle.

Step 2: Document Verification

After registration, the uploaded certificates are cross-checked by the DTE verification officers to confirm eligibility.

Document Upload Guidelines

Document Type Supported File Format Allowed Size Range Crucial Criteria
Candidate Photograph JPEG / JPG 10 KB - 100 KB Clear background, front facing, no hats/glasses.
Class 10th & 12th Marksheets PDF / JPEG 50 KB - 150 KB Must show name, board name, roll number, and subject marks clearly.
Domicile / Caste Certificate PDF / JPEG 50 KB - 200 KB Must have a valid digital signature and barcode verification number.
Income Certificate PDF / JPEG 50 KB - 150 KB Must be issued by competent revenue authorities within the active fiscal year.
⚠️ THE "OBJECTION" ALERT
Check your candidate portal daily! If an objection is raised on any uploaded document, you must upload a corrected version or submit a correction grievance within 24 to 48 hours. Failing to resolve an objection in time will lead to candidate disqualification from that round.

Step 3: Choice Filling and Locking

This is the most critical step in the entire DTE counselling. Your final seat allotment depends heavily on how wisely you order and lock your college preferences.

💡 GOLDEN RULE OF CHOICE FILLING
"Put what you want first, not what you think you will get." The computer system checks your options starting from Option 1 downwards. If you qualify for Option 1, you get it. If you put a lower preferred college at Option 1 just because you expect to get it, the system will allocate it to you immediately, and your higher preferences will be ignored!
⚠️ WARNING: LOCKING IS ABSOLUTE
Once choices are locked and the OTP is submitted, they cannot be edited, reordered, or deleted under any circumstances. If you forget to lock your choices, the system will auto-lock your last saved choices when the deadline expires.

Step 4: Seat Allotment

At the end of the choice-locking period, DTE runs the automated allocation algorithm based on candidate ranks, locked preferences, and seat reservations.

💡 HOW UPWARD MOVEMENT SAVES SEATS
If you opt for Upward Movement, you do NOT lose your current seat. The system holds your seat. In the next round, if a seat in your higher preferences becomes available, you get the new seat and your old seat is given to someone else. If no upgrade is possible, you keep your original seat.

Step 5: Reporting to the Allotted Institute

To finalize your admission, you must report physically to the allotted college. If you fail to report within the specified dates, your allotment will be cancelled automatically.

What to carry: The Reporting Document Kit

Carry the following documents in Original along with 3 sets of self-attested photocopies:
